Okay, so I've traveled a bit, who hasn't? At the last count I think it was around 55 countries and untold numbers of cites. Unfortunately, I've also seen the insides of way too many airports and hotel rooms. Much of my early travel photography was courtesy of my employers in the high tech industry. Thankfully, the best light to photograph in is early morning and late afternoon. So, not surprisingly, many of my meetings fell between these times.
Photographing cities like Prague at times like these is a complete joy, especially early morning. You get to see a side of a place many people just don't get to see.
Moving away from Europe and into Asia provided a whole different level of inspiration - quite spiritual really. Traveling around countries like Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Northern Thailand revealed a side to life most people never appreciate - complete humility and total poverty set in what many people in the west would consider idyllic scenery - dazzling blue oceans, beautiful beaches, lush tropical jungles, amazing culture and architecture - a photographers paradise. no less.
As a photographer I like to connect with my subjects, so to connect in an environment like this is to experience deep down the true meaning of humility. Browse through my catalog of fine art travel prints and see if you can feel what I felt.
